The revenue department keeps track of a hotel's revenue and looks for ways to improve it. This analysis is multifaceted. The revenue analyst tracks revenue over time and determines the direction of the trend. They then determine how the hotel its revenue compares to competitors in the market. The analyst breaks down revenue by service such as rooms, groups, events etc. and determines which are making the hotel money and which are not. You match revenues to expenses for each business segment to determine the relative profitability of each segment. As a revenue analyst you must possess an almost preternatural attention to detail and be highly accurate with your work. Are you up for the challenge?
