Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center features three in-house dining outlets and 32 event rooms of various sizes, it is an ideal meeting and relax place at Schiphol Airport. At our meeting rooms, we are hosting daily meetings of all different styles. To give you a little inside of our operation, it could vary from standard lunches with sandwiches, to luxury canapés. From dinner/lunch buffets to life cooking stations. A kitchen where your creativity can come to life and every day will be different.

Good to know! Our banquets team operates mainly on the weekdays, but we do wish you to not be averse to rotating shifts, and working on holidays.

Main responsibilities:

• You will work closely, and assist the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef in the day to day operations of the Banquets and breakfast team.

• You will be leading a dynamic team, optimizing and monitoring their operations will be your focus.

• You will be responsible for the SOP’s (recipes, pictures, and the like). Make sure they are feasible and lead the team to pursue excellence.

• Be creative, invent and elaborate new ideas for the buffet, canapés, etc.

• Consistent achievement of the service standards and quality of food. Quality assurance of all produced items and monitor the consistency of the daily operation.

• Guest relations is very important. You will be pro-active with the guest and create unforgettable experiences – make it fun!

• You will resolve any guest compliment within a professional manner.

• We are one big team, helping out others is a must – ‘Teamwork Makes The Dream Work’

• Accomplish change, you will work closely with the Chef de Cuisine to achieve improvement.

• You focus on delivering profit, managing control costs, and controlling the budget.

• You will attend and participate at kitchen related meetings.

• Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health.

• You follow all the safety and security policies and procedures of the company.

• Complete opening and/or closing duties. Supervise all cleanliness in the kitchen according HACCP.

Key personality traits:

• You have proven experience and control over excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes.

• You’re able to demonstrate hygiene codes correctly and can show safe use of all materials/equipment.

• You control over all HACCP standards.

• You have a kind knowledge on hotel procedures relating to hygiene, health, fire and safety.

• You have a complete knowledge of the staff handbook and kitchen manual.

• You have strong communication, and exceptional leadership skills, to create a winning team.

• You are creative, professional, and are a master in organization.

• You are exceptional in managing change of any situation.

• Preferably a certified Mentor in the Hospitality Industry.

• You are fluent in English, Dutch and/or any other language is appreciated.
