W Hotels does not recruit, we cast Talent. W Amsterdam, located at Spuistraat 175 is casting a Reservations Agent. You will be joining the Revenue and Reservations Team. As a Reservations Agent you are the first point of contact with the guests before they even arrive. You ensure the guest’s needs are met through the reservation process in order to make the arrival (and overall) experience a breeze.

The right candidate will have a sprit to sell and strong drive to confirm (group) reservation requests and combines strong communications skills with an eye for detail


What are your responsibilities:


Sales & Communication:

  • You reply to (group) reservation request that come in by phone or email. You make a quote that includes the room rates and specific conditions.

  • You negotiate with the client/guest the terms, conditions, room rates and other services to ensure the clients / guest expectations are met while optimizing revenues.

  • You have (and we will help you develop) sales skills. So, you are and active listener, not shy to ask questions and you have the verbal skills to develop a relationship with the client/guest. All this to gather information needed to ensure the clients / guest has an amazing experience.

  • You listen more than talk. So, you can determine the most appropriate room type to meet client / guest requirements and maximize room rate.

  • You follow “up selling” techniques (we will help you with this) and sales strategies in order to maximize property revenue.


Administrative skills:

  • You verify all reservation information with clients / guests to ensure we are selling the right thing and deliver the right services.

  • You accommodate and document special requests in an accurate and efficient manner. This includes making contracts and setting up rooming lists.

  • You assign confirmation/cancellation numbers and clearly relay this information to callers, giving them the option of emailing and/or faxing these numbers.

  • You get to know repeat clients / guests

  • You input and access data in reservation system by entering correct information into proper fields, including Marriott Rewards number, and asking for travel agency IATA and FIT numbers (i.e., flags, comments, guest messages).

  • You indicate special room reservation types (e.g., complimentary rooms, employee discounts, travel agent inspection rates, and wholesale reservations) by inputting the correct code and rate into the reservation system.

  • You show clients / guests our Whatever/Whenever in all communication with them and connect with them to be able to personalize that service, creating memorable experiences.

  • You follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure personal appearance is clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.

  • We are ALL-IN and have more teams that we cooperate with. We expect you to be flexible to work with other departments.


Requirements

  • 1-year relevant work experience

  • Fluent verbal and written English skills. Dutch and other languages are appreciated.

  • Knowledge of Marriott Systems are an added advantage but not a requirement.

  • Previous hotel experience in either reservations or front office is a plus, however candidates from other backgrounds with the right attitude will be considered.
