The Sales Specialist is professional and has selling skills, develops and maintains an account base within the corporate market, generating revenue and new business opportunities for the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center.
Key tasks and job functions:
To manage a portfolio of Corporate Accounts
To initiate action plans for developing Prospects and new business opportunities
To profile and action leads which fall within the corporate and meeting market
To develop action plans for achievement of room nights and average rate goals for transient & groups
Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices with customers or customer representatives, and draw up contracts to close the transaction
Follow up with appropriate departments to ensure delivery of excellent guest service
To carry out promotional activities i.e. familiarization trips, educational site inspections, mailings and incentives
To participate in sales blitzes, trade shows, workshops and sales trips as appropriate with a proper documented follow up
To obtain accurate knowledge of competitive sets of the Schiphol/Amsterdam hotels
Actively attend weekly and monthly sales related meetings and line up meetings.
Technical knowledge:
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) (Dutch) used in the workplace and full knowledge of the language English
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process in Dutch and English
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written in Dutch and English
Must possess basic mathematical/computational ability
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate in a friendly and positive manner with internal and external constituents
Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints
Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Opera
Sales ability and skills in both oral and written form
