We are looking for a fantastic and energetic Sous Chef for our Ristorante51 at Courtyard by Marriott Amsterdam Arena Atlas hotel!

As an enthusiastic Sous Chef you will report to the Head Chef and together you will be leading our team of chefs to ensure that dishes are prepared and cooked according to the (brand) standards.

The restaurant serves quality and seasonal food in the informal and relaxed environment. The restaurant concept is authentic Italian fine dining.

You will be responsible for orders. You will be in charge of service and ensure that the food served is of the high quality standards set by yourself and the Management Team.

Responsibilities

• Leading the kitchen team in absence of the Head Chef

• You will be training them regarding standards, hygiene and quality

• Review of ingredients and deliveries

• Monitoring waste and portion control

• Making sure that food cost is aligned with budget

• Inventing dishes and menu creation, including costings

Qualifications

• Fluent in English, any other language would be an advantage

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Sous chef, Executive Sous Chef

• Highly flexible and able to respond creatively to any situation

• Well organized, clean and resistant to stress

• Proficiency in Excel, Word and ordering platforms (computer skills)
