THE POSITION

This internship offers a unique opportunity to get acquainted with various events, from conferences and inspiring business meetings to vibrant trade shows and special weddings. As an intern in the Meetings & Events department, you will therefore have a dynamic position in which you will perform the following tasks.

HOW YOU'LL DO IT

•  Taking and processing (group) requests by phone or email in a friendly and professional manner according to Marriott guidelines;

• Making a good inventory to determine the wishes and requirements of the client and convert this information into a suitable quotation for various events such as meetings, product presentations, company parties, receptions and weddings and group reservations;

• Contribute to achieving optimal occupancy and sales of our hotel rooms, boardrooms, events and related F&B products;

•  Prepare quotations and process the request in various systems (Opera Sales & Catering, Mini-Hotels, Marsha);

•  Contribute to an exceptional guest experience;

•  Linking all internal operational departments and external parties (suppliers) involved in the meeting or event;

• Support the other members of the Meetings & Events team;

• Develop ideas for generating additional revenue.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm who possesses the following qualities:

• Positive, creative and energetic;

• Flexible in time and commitment, willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed;

• Guest-oriented and representative;

• Proactive work attitude;

• Independent with good communication skills;

•  Solution-oriented;

• Fluent in the Dutch and English languages;

•  Knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering is an advantage, but not a requirement.
